5v5 Endurance SSG (20 mins)

Organisation

Set-up a pitch approximately one half the size of a mini-soccer pitch. Mark 5m ‘safe-zones’ near each end-line.

On the main pitch, play 4v4 plus goalkeepers.

Attackers cannot shoot inside the ‘safe-zone’ and defenders cannot be tackled if they receive the ball inside the ‘safe-zone’ nearest their own goal.

If the ball goes out of play (including if a goal is scored), one of the spare players immediately plays a new ball in.

Whilst waiting on the outside, spare players manipulate the ball with different parts of their feet and try to get as many touches on the ball as they can.

You can either play 3 minute games and then change teams (try winner stays on) or you can play continuously and let players decide when to substitute themselves in and out.
