Warm Up (10 mins)

Organization:

1. 20x20 area set up as shown

2. Five players per grid

3. One ball per gird with additional near by

Instructions:

1. Player A passes the ball to Player B and takes their place at the cone.

2. Player B receives the ball on their back foot, passes the ball to Player C, and takes their place at the cone.

3. Player C receives the ball on their back foot, passes the ball to Player D, and takes their place at the cone.

4. Player D receives the ball on their back foot, passes the ball to Player E, and takes their place at the cone.

5. Rotation continues for an allotted amount of time:

3m: Left; 3m: Right; 3m: Left - Competition; 3m: Right - Competition

Coaching Points:

1. Receive with furthest foot from the ball

2. Slight hop onto standing foot on contact to prepare for next action

3. Receive with the toe pointed up and ankle locked

 Progressions:

P - Players will receive with the outside of the foot 

R - Players will not switch lines but stay at cone

Main Theme 1 (20 mins)

Organization:

1. 40x30 grid set up as shown

2. Two teams, Four players per area

3. One ball with additional around grid

Instructions:

1. Team One starts with the ball

2. Team one must pass the ball to their team in the opposite grid without Team Two gaining possession.

3. One point is gained for every successful pass made to team. 

4. If opposing team gains possession, each successful pass earns a point.

5. Play to allotted number of points

Coaching Points:

1. Angle of approach

2. Head up to observe your target

3. Specific Technique 

4. Weight and Accuracy of pass 

5. Disguise your pass

Progressions:

1. P – Two touches

2. P – All players must touch the ball

3. R – Take out restrictions and let he team pass when they see fit

Main Theme 2 (30 mins)

Organization:

1. 40 x 30 yard area setup as shown

2. 12 players (6 Attackers, 6 Defenders)

3. 1 ball (Additional around the outside)

4. 3 areas, Defense, Midfield and Attack

Instructions:

1. Teams are setup into the 3 areas of the field, Defense, Midfield and Attack. Use the formation 2-3-1

2. Attacking Team starts with the ball in their defense. They must look to keep possession for 3 passes and move the ball into midfield.

3. Once the ball is in midfield one defender may enter the midfield zone to create a 4 v 3 situation

4. Midfield players look to move the ball up to the forward to score. Once the ball is in the Attacking zone, one Midfielder may enter the Attacking zone to create a 2v2 situation.

5. Only the forwards can score. Once a goal has been scored play starts with the conceding team

6. Should the Defending team win the ball they become the attacking team and start from where they won the ball

7. If the ball goes out, play restarts back with the attacking team ’s defense
