Warm Up (15 mins)

Organization:

1. 40x30 field set up as shown, 2 grids of 20x30

2. 5 players per grid

3. One ball per grid

Instructions:

1. Player 1 passes the ball to Player 2 and follows their pass.

2. Player 2 receives the ball on their back foot in the direction of which they are going to play, passes the ball to Player 3, and follows their pass.

3. Player 3 receives the ball on their back foot in the direction of which they are going to play, passes the ball to Player 4, and follows their pass.

4. Player 4 receives the ball on their back foot in the direction of which they are going to play, dribbles the ball until they get even with Players 2 & 3 then passes the ball to Player 5.

5. Players will work for allotted time then switch to the left.

Coaching Points:

Passing - Push (Inside)

1. Angle of approach – center

2. Supporting foot is next to the ball pointed at target

3. Head up observe your target

4. Contact ball - middle

5. Contact foot - inside

6. Ankle locked with toe pointed up

7. Follow through towards target with striking foot remaining open throughout

8. Body weight over the ball

9. Weight and accuracy of pass

Receiving - On Ground (Inside)

1. Receive with furthest foot from the ball

2. Slight hop onto standing foot on contact to prepare for next action

3. Receive with the toe pointed up and ankle locked

Main Theme 1 (15 mins)

Organization:

1. 40x30 field set up as shown, 2 grids of 20x30

2. 5 players per grid

3. One ball per grid

Instructions:

1. Player 1 passes the ball to Player 2 and holds their position.

2. Player 2 receives the ball on their back foot in the direction of which they are going to play, passes the ball to Player 3, and follows their pass.

3. Player 3 receives the ball on their back foot in the direction of which they are going to play, passes the ball to Player 4, and follows their pass.

4. Player 4 receives the ball on their back foot in the direction of which they are going to play, dribbles the ball until they get even with Players 2 & 3 then passes the ball to Player 1.

5. Player 1 receives the ball and attempts to beat Player 4 1v1 past the half way line.

6. Once the play is finished, the play is restarted by Player 5.

7. Players will work for allotted time then switch to the left.

Main Theme 2 (20 mins)

Organization:

1. 40x30 field set up as shown, 2 grids of 20x30

2. 5 players per grid

3. One ball per grid

Instructions:

1. Player 1 passes the ball to Player 2 and holds their position.

2. Player 2 receives the ball on their back foot in the direction of which they are going to play, passes the ball to Player 3, and holds their position.

3. Player 3 receives the ball on their back foot in the direction of which they are going to play, passes the ball to Player 4, and holds their position.

4. Player 4 receives the ball on their back foot in the direction of which they are going to play, dribbles the ball until they get even with Players 2 & 3 then passes the ball to Player 1.

5. Player 1 receives the ball and attempts to beat Player 4 1v1 past the half way line. Player 1 can use Player 2 & 3 to play off of to beat Player 1.

6. Once the play is finished, the players rotate positions and play is restarted by Player 5.

7. Players will work for allotted time then switch to the left.

Conditioned Game (15 mins)

Organization:

1. 40x30 field set up as shown

2. Separate players into two teams

3. One ball with additional if needed

Instructions:

1. Players must play from one zone and progress into the next trying to score a goal.

2. Players cannot skip/bypass a zone unless it has been played into previously.

3. Play will cotninue for allotted amoutn of time then the players will switch zones and begin playing again.

2. A player can join the next zone if their pass has been successful received in the zone. Once the ball has been turned over or a goal has been scored they must return to their starting zone.
