Wam-Up: Dribble Tag (5 mins)

SETUP:

Every player has a ball, even the taggers.

Taggers hold a pinnie. When either of the taggers (recommended 2) tag a player they drop their pinnie. The place tagged picks up the pinnie and proceeds to chase the other players.

You cannot tag the player who just tagged you.

Activity 1: 1,000 Touches (10 mins)

SETUP: (Coach Hart Leads)

The aim is for each child to get 1,000 'High Quality' touches of the ball within 10 minutes. "High Quality" touches mean two things. 1) Solid technique and 2) Using surfaces / techniques that are challenging.

First we will introduce the skill, letting the kids practice it for 30 seconds and then we will have them perform as many as possible in 30 seconds.

Technical (10 mins)

SETUP:

4 lines with small box in the middle of the grid.

2 Players, dribble through the start cones

They then dribble into the middle where they perform skill move (fake and take, scissor, step over)

and accelerating out of the square passing to the next person, follow pass

1 v 1 attacking (20 mins)

SETUP:

Setup up two grids: 15 x 10 area with 2 side gates. 

Player A passes to player B and pressures the ball. Player B attempts to dribble over Player A's endline. If Player A wins the ball he/she tries to dribble through the red side gates.

Max 7 seconds then play is dead.

When play is done players return to their original line.

Switch roles every 3 minutes; players will attack twice and defend twice.

Make it competitive , keep score

4 v 4 to endlines (20 mins)

SETUP:

Activity take space within the 20 x 20 area.

Teams play 5 v 5 and seek to keep possession of the ball and dribble over the opposing teams endline and stop it dead for a point. If a team scores they recover quickly and the oppossing team attacks the opposite endline.

Progressions:

 -Make x amount of passes before you can attack the opposing teams endline.

 -make 2 gates along the endlines that teams must dribble through to score a point
