Shootig For Power Warm Up (10 mins)

Shooting For Power Warm Up

Organization: Set up 3 cones about 1 yard between each cone, then set up a goal about 5 yarrds in front of the cones

Instructions:

Players make one line behind each set of 3 cones, First player in line should have a soccer ball. First player makes a move and goes thru the 3 set of cones to then shoot on the goal in front of him. Shot should be with inside of the foot (for power)

*Skills To Teach:

Shooting for Power (Laces)

*Key Teaching Points:

Angle of approach to the ball

Position of non-kicking foot

proper surface of foot to strike the ball

Good Use of upper body for balance and power

Shooting For Power Competitions (15 mins)

Shooting for Power Competitions

*Organization: Set up 4 lines in front of the goal as shown above and 4 lines on the goal line accross from them.

*Instructions: Player on goal line passes the ball into space in front of the goal for player accross to run to and shoot it on goal. If They score they get a point for their line. After the shot the player goes and becomes the passer and the passer goes to the end of the shooting line. Lines work as a team and count their goals as a team. Example line A Works together and line B works together.

Skills To Teach:

Shooting for Power (Laces)

*Key Teaching Points:

Angle of approach to the ball

Position of non-kicking foot

proper surface of foot to strike the ball

Connection with the proper part of the ball

Composure

Good use of the upper body for balance and power

Follow through the strike

*Organization: Set up 2 fields size 20 X 20

*Instructions: Play 3 games of 8 minutes each, after every 8 minutes teams change opponents.

*Key Teachning Points: Free play! Let them enjoy the game.
