Fun passing game warm up. (10 mins)

Organization:

40x40 yard area divived in 4 20x20.

2 players 1 ball.

1 tagger.

Instructions:

Pair of players pass the ball to each other from one square to another .

Tagger try to intercept the ball, if succede players must form a chain with the tagger.

Coaching Points:

Pass the ball and quickly move to the next area.

Head up to look for the tagger and the open space.

first touch away from the chain.

Progressions:

Limit the number of touches.

Daytona race (20 mins)

Organization:

3 area of 15x10 divided in the center as shown.

3 team of 4 players per area.

1 ball per area.

Instructions:

Player A pass to player be and follow his pass.

Player B receive th e ball with the inside of his foot, set up a pass in the adjacent passing lane

with the outside of his foot and make the long pass to C, then follow his pass.

Coaching Points:

3 touches( first to receive, second to set up a pass ,the 3rd is the pass.)

Open your hip.Toes up anckle lock.

Supporting foot pointing at target.

Hop to receive the ball open hip to pass.

Set up the pass with the outside of passing foot( do not back up after control).

Head up before passing, look at the ball when making the pass.

Alternate left foot/ right foot.

Progressions:

Make it a contest between 3 grid, the first one that make 20 passes with out getting out of the grid or going thru center lane win. Players count loud their passes.

Start at zero if make a mistake. Other team now can adjust their pace.

Semi- opposed (20 mins)

Organization:

Same as previous.

Instructions:

Play on 2 touches only.

Passer became a defender as soon the ball has left is foot and press the receiving player.

No tackling

Coaching Points:

On your toes, 1st touch must be good enough to get out of the pressure lane into the passing lane.

Step into the ball for quicker momentum forward.

HOP and open HIPS

4 portable goals.

4 team of 3 players.

2 fields of 20x40.

! ball per field extra around.

Instructions:

3v3 games.

4 touches maximum.

Coaching Points:

First touch away from pressure.

Angle of approach for passing.

angle of support.

Heads up for field awareness.

Pass the ball and move to give support again.

Progressions:

Reduce amount of touches.
