Dan's Game (15 mins)

-Set up a 30x20 box with a halfway line creating two fields.

-Split into three teams, one team in each box and the third team standing next to the coach/pile of balls.

-Team in the box has possession, must complete fouir passes and pass to the team in the other box.

- Defending team on the outside sends two players in to defend and win the ball.

- If successful in passing to the opposite team, two NEW red players then attack the blue box.

- If a team loses possession inside of their box, they are the new defending team.

- Each time a team completes a pass to the opposite side, they get a point.

- First team to three (or five, your choice) wins.

Lava Pigs (15 mins)

Set up a 25x45 square and split it into thirds. You may keep the same three teams from the first drill.

- Players must complete 4 passes and then pass across the middle zone to the other side.

- Defending team sends two players from the middle zone in to defend.

- Defenders that are in the middle zone may intercept the ball that is played across.

- If the ball goes out of bounds or is intercepted, the team that lost the ball is now the defending team.

- Every completed pass across the middle zone is one point.

- First team to three points wins

Bonanzas (20 mins)

Set out a field that is 30x40 and split in half. Form two teams.

- To start, blue team will play a ball across the field to the white team and defend.

- When the ball goes out of play, the team whose half it went out on sends on 2 new attackers. (If the ball goes out of play on blue's defending half, then the blue team sends on two new attackers with a new ball)

- New attackers can dribble out or pass to their teammate, however they must attack IMMEDIATELY!

- The other team stays on the field and defends until the ball exits play on their half of the field.

- If the goalkeeper holds on to a shot, then the teams continue play.

- Focus on the speed of the transitions rather than the quality of the attack. Let the players experiment here and try new moves and ideas they aren't necessarily comfortable with.
