Technical Repetitions (25 mins)

ORGANIZATION:

Part A

- Two groups of 3 players in each lane.

-Setup as shown.

- Player 1 dribbles into turning zone and perfoms 2 turns, after 2nd turn look to pass the ball to player 2.

- Player 1 switch spots with Player 2 and Continue pattern.

- Both groups dribble at the same time.

Progress into competition: First team to arrive at starting positions sits down.

Part B

- Setup as shown: Two teams with 3 players per line.

- Player 1 dribbles into turning zone

COACHING POINTS:

A. Technique - Turning out of pressure

1. Player dribbling w/ head up to see opponent/space/support

2. Approach at angle with knee bent

3. Lean into opponent with shoulder dropped

4. Support foot beyond ball

5. Get foot around ball (inside/outside chop) with ankle firm, or proper technique with sole of foot on top of ball

6. Touch ball into new direction, getting body between defender and the ball

7. Move into new space at explosive pace to elude defender

Main Theme (Opposed) (20 mins)

ORGANIZATION:

- Area as shown (grid size 15x12)

- Three teams of 2 players per grid.

INSTRUCTIONS:

- Blue team is attacking first. 1v1 to gates.

- Player 1 in blue team plays 1v1 if not able to penatrate, perform turn and pass ball to Player 2.

- Player 2 play 1v1, Player 1 show behind the ball.

- When play is over Blue team step out (one player wide - one central)

- New defender steps in and Red team plays 1v1 with supporting player behind the ball.

COACHING POINTS:

A. Technique - Turning out of pressure

1. Player dribbling w/ head up to see opponent/space/support

SSG (25 mins)

ORGANIZATION:

- Set up as shown (Grid size 32x24)

- 4v4 game with two safe zone for each team in their own defensive half.

- Safe zone 6yds long & full witdh.

COACHING POINTS:

1. Technique - Turning away from pressure.

2. Use turn to preotect ball with body.

3.. Recognition of when to penetrate vs when to manintain posession of the ball.
