Technical Development

Organization:

3 Players per grid

One ball; Extra balls on side

Instructions:

1. Player A takes a touch to the side to initiate Player B's movement.

2. Player B opens up wide to either side dependent on the direction of Player A's touch. (Opposite so as the player with the ball still has the option to dribble.)

3. Player C moves based on Player A and B's movement.

4. Player B receives the ball from Player A on the back foot and then passes the ball to Player C.

4. Player C takes a positive first touch and dribbles back to the endline.

5. On the way back, Player C practices the Stepover (to move forward).

6. Progression - Allow Player A to advance and apply light pressure to Player C.

Rotation:

A > B > C > A

Coaching Points:

1. Player B - Movement to receive the ball out wide.

2. Player B - Body angle/shape, open facing the field.

3. Player B - Communication for the ball; Feet!

4. Player B - Foot receiving on; back foot to open up and play to target quickly.

5. Player C - Identify teammate's movement. Move off the ball in relation to that.

6. Player C - Positive first touch forward after receiving the ball to commit the defender.

7. Player C - Driving at the defender's front foot.

8. Player C - Entrance, Engage, Execution, and Exit of Stepover.
