1v1 SSG - Defending (20 mins)

Grid is approx 12 x 12 yds. The teams attack one goal and defend the other goal. The activity is continuous attack and defend (TRANSITION). High tempo;The 1st team to 5 goals is the winner.

Coaching Points:

1.Apply pressure quickly (angle of approch, body shape).

2.Be patient, do not dive in. Can we delay and deny the space? .Block or poke tackle.

3.Bump player and win ball.

1v1 SSG - Defending (25 mins)

Grid is approx 15 x 20 yds. Split into two teams. Playes will attack one goal and then defend the other goal. Player dribbles to goal trying to score in 1v1 situation, once lose or shoot ball then must quickly switch to defend player from other team now trying to dribble and score on other goal.

Play is continuos.

Coaching Points:

1.Quick transition from attack to defend.

2..Applying pressure quickly, with proper angle of approach and good body shape.

3.Can we be patient, delay and deny the space? Make good decision on when and how to win the ball (poke, block, or bump and win).
