Warm Up (20 mins)

Organization:

20x30

Instructions:

- Players to dribble around the area in/out of the cones.

- Players with a ball each doing ball mastery moving from cone to cone: bell touches, outside/inside, toe taps, rolls, roll-stop etc. (moves carried out using inside, outside, and bottom of the left foot and right foot)

- Players to practice dribbling moves at the cones that had been done in previous session (feint move/double feint move/scissor/double scissors)

Inrdroduce the Truns that we will work on during the session.

Coaching Points:

Messi vs Ronaldo touches.

- Head up and look for space (look for a cone that other players are not going to). Also when doing the ball mastery look forward at the cone, training to get head up when moving with the ball.

- Body position low when performing the dribbling move to change direction

- Moves done at speed and under control

Technical reps (20 mins)

Organization:

20*30

2 teams in each end line

2 cones in the middle of the grid

Instructions:

Players dribble to the cones, execute the Swivel Hip move and finish in the end line.

Coaching Points:

.Final touch of move bigger (allows head to come up)

.Accelerate away if looking to continue to dribble

.Dribble straight at the defender

.Open hips when approaching opponent as if to play the ball

.Move the ball across the body using the inside of the foot

.Take the ball past the opponent using the inside of the opposite foot

Semi and fully opposed (20 mins)

Organization:

Player A, B, and C.

Instructions:

A passes to B. A becomes defender.

B receives to turn and plays to C

C looks to utilize swivel hips or combine with B in order to beat A.

Progressions:

Go fully opposed and add Pugg goal to score.

- Successful swivel hips + goal = 3 pts

- Combination with B + goal = 2 pts

- Goal = 1 pt

*If defender wins ball and dribbles over opposite endline = 2 pts
