Pre-Warm-up: (5 minutes)

- Each player with a ball

- Players dribble in the grid working on different moves, turns, coerver skills

- Players using all parts of both feet, R/F, L/F

Screen 2

Passing & Recieving Y Drill: (10 minutes)

Organization:

- Mark out 15x15 yard box/ 2 Mannequins or Cones

- 3-5 players start with the balls at the one cone

- Encorporating 1v1 Dribbling and Passing and Recieving with an

enphasis on Body Shape, First Touch and Speed/Pace of Pass.

Instructions:

1. P1 checks away and then back to receive the ball

- P2 passes to P1

- P1 opens up off first touch and then passes to P3 at opposite end. all passes start by being played infront of the cone and into feet.

- As P3 receives they dribble and attack the mannequin/cone, perform a move to beat the defender and then pass the ball to P4. Sequence would then repeat on the opposite side.

2. P2 starts by playing to P1 who checks away and then back to the ball to receive. P1 opens up on first touch and MUST play the ball to the inside of of the cone for P3. P3 Must take their first touch behind the cone and off their second touch plays pass to P4. This

time P4 check 1-2 yards off the cone to recieve and then dribble back in.

3. Coach can use a Yellow or Red cone and stand behind the players. Before the players receive they must check shoulder and shout out the color the coach is holding up and then open up and play pass.

Coaching Points:

- Movement to create space

- On your toes

- Body shape (hips and shoulders facing forward)

- Positioning to recieve (side-on)

- Communication

- Guided first touch

- Swing knee/follow through

- Non-passing foot over the ball

- Speed/Pace of the ball

Screen 3

Possession Activity: (15 minutes)

Organization:

- Keep away/Players switch

- 2v2 + 1 or 2v2 or 3v3 inside

- 25x25 yard grid

- Plenty of balls ready on the outside

Objective: To spread the ball out as much as possible

Instructions:

- Ball played to player outside, player outside comes Inside

- Add a free neutral player to play with team in possession (Numbers up)

Possible Adjustments/Progressions:

- Make smaller or bigger

- Play endline to endline

- 2v2 in the middle - Man marking

Coaching Points:

- Speed/Pace of pass

- Combination play inside the grid

- Movement from players outside

- Decision making (where to play pass)

- First touch away from pressure

- Intensity (desire to want the ball)

- Can we play first touch to get out of pressure

- Communication ("Pass")

Screen 4

Small Sided Game: (20 minutes)

Organization:

- 2 teams

- 3v3 in the middle

- 1 team has support flank players on the side

- 1 team has support target players that they can use when in posession

- Make sure you change the outside players every 3 minutes

** Last 5-10 minutes let them play - NO coaching/stoppages

Possible Progression: least one of the 2 players on the outisde must be played before going to goal.

Coaching Points:

- Team w/ support + target play the way you are facing and play direct

- Quick movement off the ball to create space

- Team with flank players must go wide to go forward

- Give & go in behind

- Give & go infront of defender

- Give and drop back to support
