Warm Up (10 mins)

Organization:

1. 20x20 area set up as shown

2. One ball per player

Instructions:

1. Players juggle the ball using different surfaces dictated by the coach

2. Rotation

a. Thighs Only

b. Feet only

c. Right Foot, Left Foot, Bounce

d. Combination, cant use the same surface twice

3. Each round is 2 mins long

Coaching Points:

1. Body positioning

2. Correct body/foot surface

3. Drop the ball, do not throw it in the air

4. Can you keep the ball at eye level

Progressions:

1. Competition - the most is allotted time with specific surface

Main Theme (15 mins)

Organization:

1. 30x30 area set up as shown

2. Separate players into 2 groups

3. 2 balls per group

Instructions:

1. Player A (1st attacker) passes the ball to Player B (defender)

2. Player B (defender) passes the ball back to Player A (1st Attacker) then begins to press

3. Player A (1st attacker) dribbles the ball towards Player B, then passes the ball to Player C (2nd Attacker)

4. Player C (2nd attacker) passes the ball to Player A (1st attacker) creating a Give and Go

5. Player A (1st attacker) passes the ball to Player D which then dribbles the ball to the beginning.

6. Rotation: A >B > C > D > A

Coaching Points:

1. Ball played with outside of the foot for disguise

2. Angle and distance of supporting player

3. Reduce distance for quicker combination

Progressions:

1. Limit number of touches

2. Add an additional Give and Go: After A plays to D, A becomes the defender. D passes to C, C passes to D creating the Give and Go

Conditioned Game (15 mins)

Organization:

1. 30x30 area set up as shown

2. Separate players into 2 groups

3. 2 balls per group

Instructions:

1. Player A passes to Player B.

2. Player B passes to Player A and is a live defender.

3. Player A has the choice to player direct to Player D or combine with Player C to advance the ball forward. Player C can only play to Player A.

4. If the players successfully get the ball to Player D a point is awarded.

5. If Player D intercepts the ball, Player D and Player C combine against Player A to score a point by dribbling over the end line.

6. Rotation: A >B > C > D > A

Coaching Points:

1. Ball played with outside of the foot for disguise

2. Angle and distance of supporting player

3. Reduce distance for quicker combination

Open Play (10 mins)

Organization:

1. Field set up as shown

2. Team 1: sets up in a 2-1-2

3. Team 2: Sets up in a 2-2-1

4. Multiple Balls

Instructions:

1. Teams must stay in formation. Goal keepers will switch every 2 minutes.

2. Each team will play for 6 mins with a condition then switch conditions and formations.

Coaching Points:

1. Individual and group decision making about where to play the ball to relieve pressure on the ball.

2. Team shape

3. Support in attack

4. Creating and using space

5. Passing and receiving

Progressions:

1. Open Play - no restrictions
