Coerver Ball Work (15 mins)

Coerver Ball Work (15 min)

Players at each corner dribble to the centre traffic cone using a variation of ball mastery techniques and turn and go out to the next cone and repeat. Use bells, toe taps, side rolls, juggling, etc. when going from corner to center cone & center cone to corners, use stepovers, scissors, sole "v", reverse "L", etc. as approaching cones and changing direction.

Coaching Points: Keep head up, stay balanced & over the ball, accererate away from cones (Defenders)

Set up: Passing players in line connects ball to forward at wall dummies. Forward receives & turns to shoot. Passing players follow their pass & become the next forward. Rotate passes to fowards in areas A & B. GK switch ea three shots

Progression: Passing players line up on cones 1, 2 & 3. The coach will call out which line the ball will be played from & forwards will adjust their movement accordingly.

Coaching Points: Use feints when turning, take quick shots (Snap knee), communicate, Head on a Swivel

Tag, Race to the Shooting Zone (10 mins)

Tag Race to the Shooting Zone (15 min)

Set-up: Place three discs on each side to form a sideline. Divide the team into two and have them stand directly across from one another at the central disc (as pictured).

The Exercise: The red player quickly sprints around the yellow disc and tries to race into the far shooting zone without getting tagged. Blue immediately reacts to red’s movement (not the urgings of the coach), by sprinting around the red disc and tagging the red player before he can cross into the shooting zone.

Switch roles after 2 to 3 minutes

Who Can Score the Fastest (15 min)

Set up: Same as the initial exercise, but now coaches have balls.

The Game: When the Coach shouts Go! Both players (first player in each line) quickly sprints around the red/yellow disc and attacker calls for the ball. The Coach now passes the player from his/her line a ball.Players then 1v1, must shoot in there shooting zones, attacker in top and defender if wins the ball in bottom set. Progress into must perform feint move before shooting zone. Progress into 2v2 w a pass before shooting.

Expanded Sm Sided Game (15 min)

Set-up a pitch suitable for a SSG (6v6), all players must be in the attacking half before teams can shoot.

Sm Sided Game No Restrictions (15 min)

Teams must have every outfield player in their opponent’s half to score. This forces players to move up and down the field throughout.
