1v1 Attacking Progression:

Set-up.

Two goals on each side of pitch about 60 yards away from each other. Players start at half field and separate in two teams.

1. Game #1: Two players start with a ball each and go in opposite direction to each other. The first one to score gets a point for their team. If no one scores or fails to do so in less than 6 seconds, the goal does not count

2. Game #2: Defender starts near goal post and comes out as soon as offensive player takes a touch. If offensive player doesn't score in 6 seconds the goal doesn't count.

3. Game #3: Defender starts side by side with attacker. As soon as attacker takes touch the defender can move from cone and try to defend

4. Game #4. Defender starts 5 yards behind attacker and can only move once attacker takes a touch towards goal

Coaching Points: Attackers need to attack with urgency or else defender will win the ball or the goal won't count. Main coaching point is going quickly but not hurrying or else you might mess up. Dribble with toe pointed down.
