Homework Review (10 mins)

Organization:

Keep ups, moves and turns

-Sole/Heal/ Toe

-inside/outside rolls.

-toe taps outside roll

-inside rollover

-Inside/outside cuts

Players working on keeping the ball up in the air.

Variations/Progressions:

-start with ball from hands

-allow bounces and catches in between

Key Points:

-Good agility, balance, coordination - on balls of feet

-Good touch/feel of the ball

ABC- Line 1 (15 mins)

Organization:

-15-16 players

-area: whole gym

-Line is 20 yards, Green cones 5 yards away from gaol, blue cone 1o yards away from goal, 7 cones

The group is split into 3 Lines. Lines 2 and 3 are in the next tab.The players will work through a variety of agility work, agility ladder exercises and Dribbling, with extra challenges progressively added.

Work for about 5-8 minutes then rotate through Line 2 and Line 3.

Line 1-

- player dribbles to middle where the green cone is and when they get to the green cone they make a pass across to the other player. They are trying to get the pass though the cones ( goal).

-To start the cones on the ends are 5 yards apart, if it is too easy make the end goals smaller

Variations/Progressions:

1- Add the blue cone in the middle which will be 10 yards away from thr goal

2. Add Toe Taps ( forward ), Ball Boxing ( inside touches or foundations), Inside Rolls

Key Points:

-lots of touches dribbling to the cones

-pass with the inside of the foot

-head up when your about to make the pass, when making the pass head goes down

-follow through with your foot towards the target ( goal)

-frim accurate pass through the target

ABC Line 2 and 3 (15 mins)

Organization:

-15-16 players

-area: whole gym

-1 ladder,

The group is split into 3 Lines. The players will work through a variety of agility work, agility ladder exercises and Dribbling, with extra challenges progressively added.

Work for about 5-8 minutes then rotate through Line 2 and Line 3.

Line 2. Ladder exercises - Rapid Through, High Knees, In Out In Out, Scissors, Hops ( 1 foot, 2 feet)

Line 3- Dribbling- Players A are dribbling ( close control lots of touches), Palyers B are RWB ( getting ball out of your feet about 2 yards in front of you)

1v1 Game (15 mins)

Organization:

-15-16 players

-approx.10x10 grid (x2)

Player A passes out to Player B, creating a 1v1 situation. Must dribble through either of their designated coloured gates - a close gate for 1pt, far gate for 3pts . Extra point for using a change of direction move.

Variations/Progressions:

-can pass through the gate

Key Points:

-Firm/accurate pass

-Good first touch

-Dribble at defender with speed

-Quick changes of direction/speed

-Acceleration away from defender

-Ball control through gate
