Option 1

Organization of Session

- Two flags, 3 yards apart and one cone set 10-12 yards out to form a triangle

- player A recieves pass from player B and plays ball back - then immediately moves to other pole to receive pass from B....repeat.

Progressions

1) Player A recieves with inside of outside foot (farthest from pole) and passes back with inside of foot

2) Same but uses inside of inside foot (closes to pole) and passes back.

3) Same but used outside of inside foot and passess back

4) Player B passes ball inbetween poles and player A must use first touch to move ball outside pole and pass back.

5) Same as 1-4 but now player B is throwing ball (like a throw in) and Player A must use body surface (foot, chest, thigh, head) to control.

Key Points

- Technical Pride!!!! Take pride in doing it right every time.

- Player B needs to provide good surface and should play the ball to a specific foot so player A can work on necessary technique.

- Player A needs to pass back with inside of foot EVERY TIME. Proper technique is expected (plant foot towards target, foot locked, swing through towards target). First touch needs to set up the ability to pass back with inside foot. This forces player to be very intentional with how they receive the ball and provides a specific success measure for quality of first touch.
