Technical (20 mins)

Put out a gate for each player and call it the players ''home'' so whenever we shout stop they go back to there home as fast as they can.

When coach says go do it without a ball first so players get used to what they are ment to do. for the first one get each player to try run through as many gates/homes as they can each time they pass through one they get a point. Change it every time so next time they go through the gates they have to ''jump" through with 2 feet together. Next time ask them to Jump through twice forwards then backwards. do this for about 3-5 mins.

Progress into using ball when ever you shout stop players pick up ball and return to "home" as fast as they can.

1st one - get the players to dribble through as many gates as they can.

2nd one- To make sure they are keeping ball close to there feet, when each player gets to a gate they must stop the ball with there feet before moving to next gate/home.

3rd one - Progress it further when the player gets to the gate they must stop the ball then do 2 circles round the ball with there feet (stepovers) before moving onto next gate.

4th one- when player gets to gate they put foot on ball they then must roll the ball backwards (drag back) before moving onto next gate.(make sure you explain technique heel to toe).

5th one- Same as the 1st progression going through as many gates as they can trying to beat there first score they should now be more confident and keeping the ball closer to there feet.

Fun game (15 mins)

Players have to put ''giant(coach)" to sleep by singing a nursery ryme let them choose which one to sing. When giant falls asleep players start to move forwards with ball. If giant wakes up get them to freeze with foot on ball without using there hands and start to sing there song to put giant back to sleep. once they get passed the red line they can score 1 goal each before sitting down on the red line holding onto there ball. For fun wake giant up before putting him back to sleep and repeating game again going in the other direction.
