Acitivities 1 & 2 (15 mins)

Set Up - Kids sit on line between cones. 10+ tall cones spread out on field in circle formation on their side. 2-3 Puggs situated as shown in diagram

Activity #1 - Around the Track - Kids are welcomed to "Lightning McQueen's Racetrack" and are asked to help coaches get the track ready by standing up all the track cones w. their feet (review of week #1). Kids will follow Coach around the track and will move at 3 speeds. 1 - snail / slow speed 2 - doggie / medium speed & 3 - cheetah / fast speed. On coach command (ex. "Go" or "Stop") kids will run to stand up tall cones w. arms out for balance and foot on top.

Progression - Kids given a ball / race car. Must perform Soccer Position (1 foot on top) to start car and then drive it / little kicks and dribbles around the race track following coach (black) to the parking garage at the very end of the field where they will shoot the ball in.

Activity #2 - 3 Speeds - Kids will be asked to dribble / little kick their balls around the racetrack with the 3 speeds (snail, doggie, cheetah) on coach call outs.

Progressions

- Coach can call out "Park your car" and kids will dribble their ball to any of the available goals to score

- Coach can call out "In the middle!" and kids will dribble their ball into the center circle

- Coach can call out "Bumper Cars" and kids can dribble their ball at coach and try and hit coaches ball / racecar

Coaching Points:

- Keep the ball close & your head up / eyes open!

- Use age appropriate language -> "little kicks" = dribbling "big kicks" = shooting
