Phases of Play. (20 mins)

THE SESSION: Phase of play - Attacking. 20 minutes.

KEY POINTS: Weight of pass, feet or space, timing of run, direction of run, movement before the pass.

x5 and x6 - switching runs, cut back run.

PROGRESSIONS:

1. X1 passes to x5, x5 passes to x4, x4 dribbles and plays the ball to x6. X5 and x3 support with runs.

2. x1 passes to x5, x5 passes to x2, x2 passes to x4, x4 dribbles and crosses to x6.

3. x1 passes to x5, x2 passes to x3, x3 dribbles and crosses to x6.

THE SESSION: Ball starts ateither x1 or x2. Must use x5 with first pass. Must finish from a cross. 20 minutes

KEY POINTS: attack the space away from defender. Wingers to pick the pass (head up)

PROGRESSIONS: rotate the defenders, add more defenders, one touch finish.
