Coaching Points
Left/Right full backs should be encouraged to regain their defensive shape as quicky as possible;
When attacking, the left/right full backs should be encouraged to exploit the space in front of them as quickly as possible;
When one full back is in an advanced attacking position, the other full back should not push up too far - mid way between half way line and opponents penalty area.

Organisation
Create a pitch 60x40 yards with 6 yard channels either side of the pitch.
Divide players into teams of 8 or 9 players - blues and reds. Each team plays with a goalkeeper, 4 defenders, and either 2 or 3 midfield players together with a target player.
Objective
To encourage play to be spread wide and the right/left backs to attack.
Conditions
Only right/left backs may enter the marked channels.
Either left or right back, once they are passed to in the marked channel, or dribble into the marked channel of their own accord, may progress unopposed up the channel into the opponents half.
Goals can only be scored within 10 seconds of a cross from either marked channel.
Once possession has been lost, the left/right back must regain the defensive formation as quickly as possible.
Progressions
1. The left/Right back, once in possession of the ball in the marked channel, must seek to get into the opponents half within 10 seconds otherwise possession must be returned to the closest opposing team player.
2. Once possession has been lost, the left/right back must re enter his own half within 10 seconds;
3. Once in the opponents half, the right/left back may be opposed in the marked channel by the opponents left/right back to encourage ball exhange with midfield players;
4. Remove the restriction that goals can only be scored following a cross from the right/left back.
