Warm-Up (15 mins)

This warm up activity will help your teams ability to pass/receive and find open space to penetrate (by dribbling or passing).

- Every other player on the outside (blue) will start with a ball

- Players in the middle (red) check in and out of space to receive and turn with the ball

- Once ball is received, red looks to turn and and find a pass to a blue that does not have a ball

* Work:Rest Ratio = 30 seconds:1 min

Coaching Points:

1) Head up in order to find open space to penetrate

2) Communication off the ball (Turn!, play feet, etc)

3) Mobility off the ball to create space from "defenders"

Directional Possession (20 mins)

2v2 + 2 Outlets

This activity will improve your teams ability to attack open space and create supporting/passing lines once possession is won.

- Each team is looking to connect with their respective neutrals on the outside of the square

- Player must dribble to outlet player who then takes the place of the middle player (switch places)

- Ball always restarts with coach

* Work:Rest Ratio = 2 min games:1 min rest

* Progression: instead of dribbling, players can now pass to outlet players

Coaching Points:

1) Outside players mobility in order to create passing lines (support)

2) Attacking open space by the dribble or pass

3) Creating angles in order to break lines quickly
