Screen 1 (25 mins)

Session Organisation

44x44 play area. 3 teams of 6. 2 teams of 6, start with a ball each team, whilst the other team of 6 pass a ball around the outside maniquine area limited to 2 touch. Progress to play a possession game between the two teams inside the play area, The 6 outside players continue passing the ball outside the maniquins, players must be aware when inside players play out for support to retain possession.

Detail

Team in possession of the ball must retain the ball for 10 passes to score.Team in possession can bounce off outside players who can only play one touch. all players must be visually aware of the game ball and the ball being played on the outside.

Four Corners

Technical.

Work on Receiving skills, dealing with the ball under pressure, passing and keeping possession and using the ball effectively. shots and headers on target.

Tactical.

Individual rolls and resposibilities. When to drop off and pull away to create space, link up play and movement with and without the ball.

Physical.

Develop Aerobic and Anaerobic capabilities of players. Game specific work.

Psychological.

Test the ability to work under pressure and stay ocused and fvisually aware.

Social

Encourage team mates and develop good habits.

Zonal Game (25 mins)

Session Organisation.

Small Sided Game. Balls; Bibs; Cones.

Six, 15 x 15 zonal areas = 45 x 30 play area. 6 v 6 play, 1 v 1 in selected zones.

2 target players, one in each target free zone area and 2 floaters in wide free zone areas,

one each side.

Detail

S-S-Game. 1v1 must stay in zoned areas, retain the ball by using supporting players. To score the team in possession must recieve from a target zone player and play through to the opposite target player.

Free play to start with and then had conditions 1/2/3 touch etc.

Sideway rotation of team player in possession only.

Forward and backwards rotation of team player in possession only. Understanding game awareness and game appreciation

Technical.

Work on Receiving skills, dealing with the ball under pressure, passing and keeping possession and using the ball effectively.

Individual rolls and resposibilities. Understand the 4,4,2 system that we play both defensively and offensively

SSG + Spare Striker (30 mins)

Session Organisation; 8 v 8. 9 v 9 Game: Possession with Purpose (25 mins)

Set-Up: Field is 70yds long x 50yds wide with 2 free zone areas for stiker to drop into and 2 goals at either end. Two equal teams, with 2 Goalkeepers. Balls distributed beside goals to keep the game flowing when balls go out of play.

Detail:

Players are restricted to playing forward passes only. Players around the ball need to understand when to give the option of coming to feet or when they have to make a run to receive into space.

Instructions: Play 8 v 8. 9 v 9 with offside in effect. Re-start from the GK when a goal is scored or ball goes out of play.

Coaching Points: Stay switched on - immediate transition from defending to attacking

1.Create width and depth 2.Quality and speed of pass 3.Deception of pass 4.Movement off the ball 4.Awareness 5.Can the ball be played early in to striker in attacking zone 5.Give support early and quickly to create overloads in the attacking zone
