Movement off the ball (20 mins)

Set up

3 cones, bunch of balls

Drill

-on coaches command "GO", players make opposite runs, midfielder plays a pass into the closest player, the player receives the ball dribbles to goal and has a shot. Second bliue player follows up on the play for any rebounds.

Once first pairs are done the next two players come in quickly

Coaching Points-

-proper angle of approach

-attack with speed generate more power

-part of the foot ( laces)

-part of the ball (middle)

-lean over the ball

-non kicking foot placement ( close to the ball)

-follow through towards the goal

remember Toe Knee Chest Nut ( head)- Per Steven killen

- toe pointed down, knee, chest and nut over the ball to create one straight line

Strikers movement (20 mins)

Set up

3 cones, bunch of balls

Drill

-on coaches command "GO", One first striker makes a run towards midfielder and receives a pass. that player receives the ball and makes a pass into the second striker that is checking his run towards him. Second striker lays the ball off for the first strilker who is making a forward , he takes one touch and has a shot on goal.

Second striker follows up for any rebounds.

If they are getting the drill add 1 defender- first passive defending, then he can become active to win the ball. If defender wins the ball he has to play a pass into the coach.

Once first pairs are done the next two players come in quickly

Strikers movement 2 (20 mins)

-on coaches command "GO", first striker makes a run towards midfielder at the same time second make his runs towards the midfielder the second striker receives the ball from the midfielder That first strikers spins away to support the the ball. Second striker lays the ball off for the first strilker who is making a forward , he takes one touch and has a shot on goal.

Second striker follows up for any rebounds.
