Warm Up (10 mins)

Warm Up: King of the Ring

15y by 15y area, each player has a ball.

The aim of the game is to keep your soccer ball in your grid and look to kick out other peoples ball.

First of all, if a players ball is kicked out of the grid they have to do 10 toe taps before they come back in.

Progression/Adaptations:

1) Instead of toe taps, another punishment (10 side to sides)

2) Make it a knockout, if a players ball is out they are out

3) Make the area smaller when there are a few left!

Play for 10 Minutes

Unopposed Dribbling Practice (15 mins)

Unopposed Dribbling Practice

15y by 15y area, each player has a ball.

This practice starts with players dribbling around the area. Players need to be dribbling using:

1) All the surfaces of their feet

2) Both feet

3) Little touches to make sure players have the ball under control

4) Keep their head up

Every 3 minutes I make the area smaller and finish with a 7y by 7y or 5y by 5y area. You know what your team are capable of.

Progressions/Adaptations:

1) Use weaker foot only

2) Add pinnies/spare cones to give them something to dribble around.

Duration: 15 Minutes

Dribbling Game (15 mins)

Dribbling Game

15y by 15y area, 4v4/5v5/6v6, as many soccer balls as you have.

To score a goal the attacker must dribble the ball into the shaded area they are attacking. No defenders can go into the area.

We want the players to be positive, if they can dribble the ball into the area, they should try!
