Organization:

1. 40 x 30 yard area set up as shown

2. 12 players set up as shown

3. 4 balls (Additional around the outside)

Instructions:

1. Players score by passing the ball into a player’s feet. If the target player has to move then no goal is scored

2. Players have to pass and move in the area using their laces only

3. The passing distance starts at 5 yards then gradually increases to a distance that players are able to play over

4. When players are not on the ball they complete different movements i.e skipping, side steps

Coaching Points:

1. Lock the ankle

2. Contact with the laces

3. Follow through towards target

Progressions:

1. P – Add more balls

1. 30 x 30 yard area set up as shown

2. 14 players (2 groups of 12, 2 GK) set up as shown

3. Lots of balls

Instructions:

1. Player 1 passes into player 2 who sets the ball back to player 1

2. Player 1 passes to player 3 who passes back to player 2

3. Player 2 then set the ball to player 3 to shoot

4. Player 1 becomes player 2 and player 2 becomes player 3

5. Both sides work at the same time

Coaching Points:

1. Quality of passing

2. Head up to observe goalkeeper

3. Shooting technique being used

1. P – Play one touch

Organization:

1. Penalty area set up as shown

2. 13 players (2 teams of 6, 1 Goalkeeper) set up as shown

3. 12 balls (additional by the coach)

Instructions:

1. Form two lines either side of the coach 22 yards away from goal

2. Coach is the server who plays the ball into the box

3. The first attacking players from each side attempt to win the ball and score

4. Attackers then join the back of the line

Coaching Points:

1. Angle of approach is off centre

2. Head up to observe the position of the goalkeeper

3. Contact Foot – Laces

4. Body weight forward chest and knee over the ball at contact

5. Follow through landing on striking foot

Progressions:

1. R – Move forward 5 yards

2. P – Add a player to each line 2 vs. 2, 3 vs. 3
