Description

Part practice into small sided game working on defending as a back 4. I had also enhanced the learning for the midfield players with both communication and understanding of how to help team mates.

Learning outcomes based on defending principles of the game.

Individual challenges will be gived to the strongest centre back who can organise the defending line and distances from goal.

Goalkeeper who can communicate with defenders and help organise whilst keeping a good starting position.

Part Practice 2v2 (5 mins)

Organisation

Red players to side of goal play a long pass into Blue players. Or Goalkeeper can throw out to Blue players

Blue players then attack to score in Main goal. If reds win ball they will look to score in the 2 mini goals.

Progression 3v3 (10 mins)

Organisation

As previous but now the pitch is slightly wider and its 3v3. Same rules of the practice.

Using a variety of coaching styles

Work/ Rest Ratio.

Defenders will work for 3-4 attackes and rest for the same

Ratio 2 to 1.(physically demanding and needs to be monitored)

Blues are work 1 rest 3 (Slightly more intense)

Individual challenges

Organisation and getting the middle defender to lead decisions on depth and distances from goal

Coaching Position.

Take up appropriate positions to see exactly what the players see.

Coaching Styles

Use a variety of coaching styles within session.

Bring players in and review progress of the session

Progression 4v3 (10 mins)

Organisation

Add a striker to create 4v3 in attackers favour.

During the session i will take up a number of coaching positions.

Wording Used.

Be positive throughout to also include wording 'If you can.' and 'I want yoy to try'.

Conditions

Adding an extra attacker will give the defenders more problems to solve. I will first see if they can solve these themselves hepl self learning and enhance player to player discussion.

Work Rest Ratio

Reds Work2 rest 1( Physically demanding, monitor)

Blues are work 1 rest 2( Increased work load)

SSG Progressions 2 and 3 (15 mins)

Organisation

As previous but remove zone.

Progression. Reds have 15 seconds to score or shoot once winning the ball.

Progression 3. Free play. Remove all conditions and see if learning has taken place.

delay which will allow midfielders to drop and help.

Time Scale

5-6 minutes for 2nd progression (Reds have 15 seconds to score)
