Pattern (30 mins)

Pattern:

-Play starts from either winger. In the example above it starts from our Left winger (11). They pass the ball into the nearest Holding Midfielder (6). They now become Active and can join in the play.

- No.6 must pass the ball - not dribble - and now has 4 options - into the other Holding Midfielder, into the Furthest Winger, into the Striker, or into the No.10.

.

Individual Coaching Points:

1 - Nearest Holding Player needs to be Behind the Ball - Open Body Position - Can See Everthing In Front

2 - Furthest Holding Player needs to be Slightly In Front of the Ball - Side On - Can See Everything in Front

3 - No.10 needs to pull away to create an angle for a pass - Not Straight - Side On - Can See where Defenders/Attackers are

4 -No.9 needs to stay Central - Looking for little movements In Behind or to Pin a Defender for a One-Two with a Midfielder

5 - No.7 stay wide to receive ball to feet - or if ball goes to No.8 then possibly make run inside and in behind defence

.

Group Coaching Points:

1 - When Receiving have open body position, side on, take positive touch forwards - try to take a defender out of the game

2 - Get Shots Away

3 - If Ball goes Wide then Fill the Box with No.9, No.10 and Opposite Winger, and One Holding Midfielder Ring the Edge for second balls
