Blocked (10 mins)

3 boxes are set up with a diagonal gateway parallell. The idea of the drill is for the four players in each box to pass and move within the surroundings and wait for an instruction of 'go' from the coach. When the players hear this trigger one of them must make a forward run past the gate to then recieve the ball on their back foot to open out and contiue their run without breaking stride. The components of the pass can be instructed and developed aswell. A variation for this blocked session is too alter the type of run made to a pocket run instead of getting in behind. This means that the components of the pass must change and this can be instructed to the players. After making the run the reciever must turn and face the ball to receive it to their feet.

Variable (10 mins)

The aim of this variable drill is to make one of the runs rehearsed in the blocked session into the end zones marked with red and blue lines respectively. If a run is made and a pass recieved in the end zone then a point is awarded to that team. The game is organised for a 3 vs 3.

Random (10 mins)

The random secrtion of this session is a normal rules 6 vs 6 game with added conditions. Alongside the usual way to score a goal if a pass is made and finds a player who has made one of the two runs mentioned, that counts as a goal. As shown by the white lines the pitch is split into thirds and once a player has played the ball into the next third in a forward direction the ball cannot be passed back to the previous third. This condition will encourage the players to get the ball forward quickly, penetrating the defence.
