ODP Week 2 (20 mins)

Instruction:

Skills Circuit- Players take it in turns to go through the skills circuit.

Focus Points:

-Use the inside and outside of your right and your left foot.

-Changes of direction using the sole of the foot. (Pullback Move)

-Inside/Outside Cuts.

-Running with the ball.

-High Intensity.

-Lightly touch the ball with your foot each time you step forward alternating between your right and

left foot as you naturally step.

Coaching Points:

-Low Center of gravity

-Head up. explain to the player's this would be during game situation" to assess the field and options".

-On the "Run with the ball at speed" Stage encourage the player's to carry out feints/tricks.

-Soft touches, generally with the outside of the foot when travelling as speed.

-Arms out for balance.

-Explain the difference between the ball close if dribbling (Messi), or larger push away (Ronadlo) touches if 'running with the ball'.

-Ask the players what move would be best suited in what situation.

-Messi, Close control and to change diection quickly. One step equals one touch the ball.

-Ronadlo, Clear Space ahead of you. Three steps equals one touch of the ball.
