Passing Warm up (20 mins)

Sequence goes as image above.

Thinking Points

1) How can we vary the weight / accuracy of passes allowing teammates to play as quickly as possibly ?

2) How do the passes vary on at different cones ?

P = bring the cones closer together - players now asked to play 1 touch

Challenge - Can we play 1 touch around the drill ?

2v1 - 3 Teams (20 mins)

Organisation - 3 teams, 1 team defends at a time. Other 2 teams work together to keep the ball from defenders.

Team that loses the ball then becomes the defenders.

Defenders - overloaded. Start by defenders being locked into their zones will then allow them freedom to press and leave their zone. Hoping that the attackers can exploit them and get more sucess so can talk to the group about the importance of being organised.

Would it be better for the player 2 to go in and help player 1 or player 3 to push up and support player 2 to stop them playing out ?

Organisation - Defenders in the middle attempt to intercept and block passes through to the other team. Middle players are allowed to move anywhere in the middle 3rd.

If the defender wins the ball they can dribble through and score in the goal. Coach plays ball in as soon as they have their shot ( Dis-joint the team )

P- Middle players allowed 1 player to press the ball if they want to.

P 2 - End zone players can have 1 player drop into the middle to play through.

Physical - ABC's , Lateral movements to block the pass.

Social - Can I work as a defending unit to win back the ball?
