Organization:

1 passes to 2, 2 to 3, 3 dribbles back to line

Half of the group stay at this drill the other half go's to Def pressing with 3 strikers

Instructions:

Passing: 1. Speed of the ball. 2. Direction. 3. Playable

Receiving: 1. The ball rolls. 2. Direction. 3. Playable

Coaching Points:

Moment between receiving and passing short. Fast first touch. Accelerate after first touch.

Change of speed in movement and ballspeed (progression 3rdman + give and go)

Progressions:

3rd man + give and go (see left side of drawing)

Organization:

3 strikers against 4 defenders + mid

Strikers rotate every 2 balls

Centre back and mid rotate every 3 minutes

Half of the group stay at this drill the other half go's to passing and receiving

Instructions:

Blue team always starts with the ball, played by the coach

Blue team try's to score in one of the 3 goals

White team try's to intercept the ball by pressing as a collective ones they intercept the ball they can score in one of the opposit goals

Coaching Points:

3 strikers need to start compact, force the ball to the side, avoid the ball being played thru the middle and then press aggressive. Press to intercept the ball, over my dead body mentality

Timing of the run to press (when he swings) and the right way to approach the opponent (fast while ball travels slow down when the ball is a yard away from opponent)

Body shape of the winger that press depends on the situation (depends on decission mid opponent)

Striker and winger and opposit side mark man and space and anticipate what has priority

Progressions:

Add a mid at the opponent and add a mid at own team

Def. Pressing (25 mins)

Organization:

8 vs 8+1 on half pitch

1 big goals and 3 mini goals

3 x 5 minutes, switch players after every 5 minutes

After +/- 20 min got to "free" scrimmage

Instructions:

Every ball starts at the GK

Blue try's to score in one of the 3 mini goals

White try's to intercept the ball and score in the big goal

Coaching Points:

Objective is pressing the goalkick of the opponent and pressing while the ball is in the game (no goalkick).

With goalkick we press with one of the attacking mids (8 or 10)

Recognize formation midfield of opponent (1 or 2 holdingmids?)

When oppenent plays with 1 holding mid we rotate midfield to 1 attacking mid

Starting position is striker holds one of the two centre backs and the rest of the team all stand in between ("Half-Half") See red arrows for direction of pressing

Ones ball in the game we press with 3 strikers like in previous screen/drill

If space gets to big with goalkick wait longer (stay compact) before to press

Progressions:

Give opponent solutions to make it harder for own team

Let centre backs opponent drop down more

Let one of the midfielders of opponent ask the ball on the side of the field at the side of the ball
