I can do this, can you? Dribbling Turns

Coach begins by showing the players something with the ball and asking them to do the same.

Go through the listed dribbling movements/turns and then send for water. Each movement should be worked on for 1-2 minutes.

If they are struggling then stop, review, and go again.

Pirates Gold (15 mins)

Pirates Gold - Ball stealing game (Sheilding/turns)

Have all player bring it in with a ball. You'll take away two players balls and put them in the goal. These two will start the game off as the Pirates but in this game the Pirates change frequently. Pirates love gold and each players ball is a piece of gold that they must try to protect.

Rules

You must try to protect your ball by sheilding it and then dribbling away.

If your ball gets stolen then you become a pirate and have to steal a ball away from someone new.

You cannot steal ball back from the same player who stole your ball.

If a pirate is chasing you and you dribble out of bounds then you must give your ball to them

Who has the gold balls at the end of the game!

Play for three rounds of 2 minutes each. Each round you'll add another pirate up to an even numbers of pirates and dribblers.

Let them know to use their turns to get the ball to a safe side to sheild

1 V 1 - Turns/Sheilding

First Player in Line A passes the ball down to the first Player in Line B. Once he/she plays the ball they must run out and try to stop them from scoring into one of the two goals.

The first player in Line B who is recieving can attack either goal and will likely have to use their turns, shielding, and deception to score a point.

If the defender wins the ball they can score a point as well by passing it to the coach to teach transition.
