Warm up (10 mins)

Organization:

Have a small grid 5x5, have two teams (Equal numbers and also depending on the numbers). No ball

Instructions:

Have 1 player from each team step in the box. We will focus on white (and of course blue will get the chance to do the same after the reps are done). The white player will try to check of the blue player inside the grid, when the white is out of the grid the blue player will be able to tag the white. If the blue was able to tag that be a point for blue if not white gets the point.

Coaching Points:

-low on your knees

-have the hips moving

-use arms to exagerate and fake the player

-change of directions

-drop one shoulder

-good balance

-quick transition

Progressions:

Make it a competition either with reps or mins

Technical push run dribbling

Organization:

In a square of 40x40 all players will have a ball.

Instructions:

 The players will be dribbling and doing the push run while avoiding each other in the grid.

Coaching Points:

-drop shoulder and change direction

-push the ball with the outside of the foot

-change of speed

- bent knees

Progressions:

have a defender go in the box and put pressure on the players.

Main theme(10m) (15 mins)

Organization:

place 4 cones in the middle of the grid. Have two groups

ball per player

Instructions:

Players will go one at a time. The players will dribble to the coned area and perform the push run skill move to get away.

Coaching Points:

-Drop shoulder

-unbalance body to a balance body

-change of direction

-change of speed

-use arms to balance and fake

Progression:

Take off cones in the middle and now go into a 2v1 situation. Players will now have the option to use the skill move or to pass and score. Decisions will have to be made

Free play

Organization:

Have two teams of equal numbers. depending on numbers as well, you could have a neutral player

Instructions:

Have a 4v4 game going at goal, no restrictions

Coaching Points:

-give attacking coaching points principles

-observe skill moves

-observe players mentality when successful and unsuccessful

-drop shoulder

-unbalance players

-when is the skill move applied and was it correct?
