Playing through #10 (10 mins)

Organization:

Half Field (width of the 18 yard box)

#6, #7, #8, #9, #10 & #11

Instructions:

- Shadow play (passing patterns to build the attack in the final 1/3rd)

- Play starts with ball into #6 or #8

- Look to combine through #10

Coaching Points:

- For #10 - Angles and distances to receive ball - #10 should be on half turn, and coach whether it needs to be front foot (safe side with pressure) or back foot if no pressure.

Work on Cues and Triggers of when to drop off and make those runs to receive the ball. Maybe stay high and deep and then come off to receive when CM receives ball.

For #7 & #11 - play high and wide to create space inside.

- For #9 - stay high to not kill space where #10 needs to perform. Can also rotate with #10.

- For #6 & #8 - When, where and how to pass the ball. Don't rush the pass.

- For all - communication, focus and be positive.

Playing through #10 (II) (10 mins)

Organization:

Same as prior screen

Add defending players - 6+GK

Instructions:

- Ball always starts with server who feeds into either one of two Blue CMs. The aim is for the CM to create a scoring opportunity by using the #10.

- #10 hasn't got to make the final pass before creating a goal scoring opportunity but he needs to be involved in each attack.

- Look for the number 10 to play in a free role and drop off to create overload in midfield, getting on the ball and creating space for the wingers.

- Try to coach 3 different passages of plays (down the middle, down the left and down the right).

- If the Reds win possession they can score by shooting into the counter goals.
