Flower Knock-down (10 mins)

Flower Knock -down: 20x30 yrd grid-Let the players know that the area between the cone is the island they must stay on. Place stand up cones with a disk cone on top around the area so they look like flowers.

Without ball- Have players run, skip, or hop around the area and on the coaches command they have to knock over the flowers as fast as they can. Have coaches set them back up and go again.

With ball- Have players dribble around the area and on the coaches command they have to see how fast they can knock them all down. Time them and play for several rounds. You could even divide them into two groups to see which group can knock them down the quickest.

Bumper Cars/Red light, green light (10 mins)

Bumper Cars / Red Light, Green Light - Organize in a 20 x 30 yard grid made from cones

Equipment: Hula Hoops and other obstacles if desired

Description: The players step into a hula hoop and hold them at waist level. Explain that this is their "car" and they should not bump anyone else's. Give them word directions for example:

-Drive around the area to explore

-Stop and go

-Stand Up and Sit down

Give everyone a ball and line them up on one line and play Red Light, Green Light. Players must make it across to the other line by dribbling their ball and following the below commands.

Red=Stop

Yellow=Walk

Green=Go

If you say : "Red Light" and they keep going then they have to move back to the start.

Pirate Ship (10 mins)

Pirate Ship - 20x30 yard area. Create a small safe zone (5x5)

Teach players the following commands:

1. "Walk the Plank" -move the ball forwards using the inside of the feet turning each foot outward like you are walking a plank.

2. "Scrub the deck" - Show the players to move the ball back and forth with the bottom of our foot like they are scubbing the deck wihth the ball. Now pull the ball back and change directions when called.

Go back adn forth between the two commands. Have the player dirbble around and you can add the next two commands.

3."Hoist the Sail" - Have players reach down with both hands, grab the ball on both sides and lift it at high as they can and back down again.

4. "Shark Attack" When you yell "Shark Attack" is the cue for the kids to quickly dribble the ball inso the "safe zone" without being tagged by the coach.

Open Goals (10 mins)

OPEN GOALS: 20x30 yard coned area

Bring everyone in. Tell them they will be dribbling to a goal and kicking the ball into the net. once they score they will grab their ball and bring it back to the center and they must give one of the coaches a "High Five". Once they "High Five" the coach they can then go and score on a different goal. How many goals can you score?

Play a second round to see if they can beat their score.
