Warming up (15 mins)

SET UP:

Square or rectangle with gates.

1) Half of the players have a ball, the other players don't. The players with ball dribble around and look for a free player (player without the ball). The need to make sure that the pass goes through the gate. The player who receives the ball tries to receive it with the inside off the foot. When he receives the ball, he looks for a new player to pass it to between a different gate.

For every pass you receive with the inside of the foot, you get a point. Most points win!

KEY POINTS:

1 - Use the inside to control the ball

2 - Lock your ankle - 'bring your toes towards your knee'

2 - Opening your knee and ankle to push it in the right direction

POTENTIAL PROGRESSIONS:

2) When players receive the ball they try to make the first touch towards space. (Area where the least players are) Green arrow = direction of first touch

Review / Reflect (to be completed after each session)..

Progression (10 mins)

SET UP:

Same set up as the warming up. Goals are added on every side of the field. Now the first touch is very important. When you receive the ball, the first touch needs to go towards the goal you want to score on. If you can score in 2 touches (first touch + strike), you receive 3 points. If you score in 3 touches, you get 2 points. If you score in more than 3 touches, you get 1 point. If you don't score, you don't receive points. You can double your points by being a running player (timing!) instead of a waiting player.

KEY POINTS:

1 - Use the inside to control the ball

1 - Push the ball in the direction of the goal

1 - Open your body

1 - Look quick at the goal while the ball is on his way towards you, so you know if the goal is available or not

2 - Keep the ball far away of your opponent ( Push the ball away from the defender)

POTENTIAL PROGRESSIONS:

2 - Add 1 or 2 defenders. If the defenders steal the ball, the player who lost the ball becomes the new defender. The 2 players who are the defender after 1 minute need to do a task.

Review / Reflect (to be completed after each session)..

K3v3K (20 mins)

SET UP:

a K3v3K field.

A(ttacker)1 starts with bal. D(efender)1 applies pressure on A1 without stealing the ball. A1 does a turn-move and plays it to K(eeper)1. He switches sides and plays it towards A2. In the meantime D2 has to make a choice: or defend the inside or defend the outside. He doesn't try to steal the ball, only covering the area. A2 makes his touch into space and tries to score. If he scores, D3 dribbles in the field and the K3v3K starts. If K2 saves the ball, D3 runs into the field without the ball and the K2 starts the K3v3K. A3 joins the play to complete the K3v3K.

KEY POINTS:

- K1: look over your shoulder & push it towards A2

- A2: Running player(!), look where the defender is and push the ball into space

- ALL: Transition moment
