Technical Passing

- Improve passing & receiving technique/quality

How to Play

- Unopposed. Pass to the highest player (and follow in) who sets for the deepest player who plays out (and follows)

- Continuous

Progressions

- 'Overs' from the deepest player

- Highest player stops the ball for the deepest player to run on to

- Once ball gets to the outside it must be transferred to another outside player before being played back in

- Set a time limit to complete a specific number of passes

Passing Pattern (20 mins)

Set Up

20x10 with a half way line.

Target player at each end, each have a ball.

Red target player passes into the red team, blue target player pass into blue team.

The object of the exercise is for each team to work the ball to the opposite target player.

Once they have passed into the opposite target player they start again by receiving of the target player on the same team (red receives the ball off red, blue receives the ball off blue) so the game is directional.

Progressions

- Every player touch the ball before it reaches the target player

- Try to ensure one player is in each half when the ball is passed in by the target player

- Can you create a combination play before passing into the target player

- Can you rotate positions before receiving the ball

- You can only play the way your facing

- 1 touch

Directional Rondo (20 mins)

Set Up

20x10 with a half way line.

One target player starts a ball.

Red target player passes into the red team, blue target player pass into blue team.

The object of the exercise is for each team to work the ball to the opposite target player.

Once they have passed into the opposite target player that counts as a goal. The ball is then served back into the team that conceeded. The target player can be used a wall pass.

Progressions

- Target player can step into the game to create an overload if he receives the ball off his own team

A Passes to B and follows the ball to replace B, B passes to C and follows to replace, C Dribbles to D and turns to play ball to E, etc.

Progression: Add movement by A playing to B, recieving and leading C (2)

Coaching Points: Toe up, locked ankle, head up, play onto leading foot, busy feet

2 Goal Sprint Finishing (15 mins)

2 teams, 2 keepers

Teams split and each player has a ball

when coach says go the 1st player in the line sprints to the other side of the field and shoots on goal

immediately after the shot the next player goes.

It is a relay race, count the number of goals

Team that completes the task the fastest wins and loser does pushups

Team with most number of goals wins and loser does pushups
