Quick feet / passing (20 mins)

Organization:

- set up as per diagram x 2 ( for 12-13 players)

- each grid is aprox 15 x 25

- cones, pinnies, balls

Both C players are servers to pass.

A player moves towards left B towards right, passing with C and going back and forth through cones.

A asks for pass from C, pass back using Right Foot (RF), then goes back / forth through cones, at gate pass with C with Left Foo (LF)t, goes through cones and pass again with C at end LF , then goes through next set of cones, passing with the other C( RF, LF , LF).

Meanwhile B player starts doing same thing , going towards Right having a different sequesnce ( LF, RF, RF).

Allow only 1 touch pass. Switch players often.

Coaching points:

- quick feet, always on toes, always moving back and forth and lateral

- good weight, firm pass, inside of the foot, center of the ball

- keep ball on the ground

Pass / Turn / Pass (20 mins)

Organization:

- set up as per diagram, 20 x 30 grid

- 10-13 players

- pinnies, balls, cones

Pass / Turn / Pass - Allow only 2-3 touches

Players play with team mates in same color ( Blue / Red or White).

Outside players start the game passing to team mate in centre who receives, turns and pass to another team mate outside. Outside players should also be always onthe move, can always switch side when possible, just to chanlenge the middle man.

Once they get it going and execution improves, add a Def ( Yellow) in the middle that try to intercept ball.

Switch players often.

Coaching points:

- create angles to receive, have a plan

- be aware of trafic around, good first touch, quick turn

- good firm pass, weight and timing of the pass.

4 v 2 Quick transition (20 mins)

Organization:

- set up in a 20 x 45 grid as in diagram

- 3 teams of 4 players each

- Pinnies, balls, cones.

4 v 2

Passing and quick transition

Team in possesion ( Red) try to make 5 pases without Def to touch the ball and pass accross to Blue Team.

Once coach pass the ball to Red, 2 Yellow ( Def ) come in to defend and other 2 stay in middle trying to intercept the ball. One of the players in possesion can open more passing angles and get into additional lateral space, in order to pass the ball to Blue. Only Yellow player in Middle can try to intercept ball into lateral space.

Count points for every 5 passes , followed by succesfull pass across.

If ball touched or intercepted by Yellow, team that lost posession become Def and Yellow takes their place. Game continue quickly.

Preferably 1-2 touches

Coaching points:

- adjust body to receive pass, positive touch

- movement without ball

- create angles of passing, usi all space.

- play calm, but quick

- Communication

Third man run ( Midfield) (20 mins)

Organization:

- quarter field, set up as shown

- 2 fields, each with three 15 x 15 grids side by side

- pinnies, balls

- Addapt drill for numbers, or shorten field to 2 grids each

Field 1 - Player receives ball from coach in grid A , dribbles or pass to create a 2 v 1 conbination play in grid B with final objective to feed the ball to attacker, who is marked by 2 def, in grid C. Defenders can defend only in their grid.

Field 2 - Player with the ball must beat a Def in grid B by passing into the 2 v 2 in Attack or dribbling past the defender. Defenders can defend only in their grid.

Switch attacking and defending groups and switch fields as well.

Coaching points:

- movement to create space for you or team mates

- attack the space, get into combinations, create angles of support

- have a plan, communication
