Evolution Football Academy: Head Coach - Ross McKay

NOTE: We have now worked on various aspects of the game in the previous sessions.

SOCIAL in the warm up, where the exercise is fun and relaxed whilst getting warm.

TECHNICAL in the warm up leading into speed & agility through into the skill practice.

In this particular part of the session, we will be incorporating the PSYCHOLOGICAL aspect of the game, looking to see if players can make decisions for themselves and create a competitive edge along with a level of sportsmanship, which will bring out the PHYSICAL element.

1v1 Technical Practice (15 mins)

- 40x30 yard pitches x 2

- The 1v1 technical practice is a progression from the 1v1 skill practice keeping the same theme

- Player 1 must attack into space with the ball.

- There are are 3 area's for each attacking player to score in. He/She can either run the ball through the orange cones either side of the defenders goal to score.

- The ball must remain under the attackers control for this to be achieved and score a point

- The other option that Player 1 has is to score in the goal. To score in the goal Player 1 must be in area closest to the goal marked by the red cones. If Player 1 scores in the goal he will receive 2 points

- The objective of Player 2 is to stop Player 1 from scoring in any of the 3 scoring area's.

- Each player will be a defender and an attacker in the session with 2 attacks each.

- Each player will then swap round to work with another player to increase or decrease the challenge.

- Every player, both attackers and defenders should concentrate on bringing knowledge from the previous sessions into a competitive opposed session

Progression:

- The session from here, can progress into a 2v1, 2v2 session. With a further progression to a 4v4 or 5v5 small sided game. All with the same objectives, to attack into space when posed with a 1v1 situation.
