'Whole' - Shadow Play

Objective

'Whole' part of the session that incorporates Attacking Technical and Tactical role rehearsal within the warm-up environment. Intensity to be controlled and gradually incresed and/or decreased to suit individual demands and preparation

Progressions

1. FB to receive pass and then make identicle run WTB

2. WM to play into CM and WM to receive deep to move forward with the ball

Technical

1. Movement - position specific

2. Receiving skills - awareness, body position, direction and strength, contact, decision

3. Passing skills - driven, swerved, lofted, short, chipped, weight and direction, appreciation

4. Dribbling - 2 angles, speed, deception

5. RWTB - direction and strength of touch, appreciation of space, head up, contact

6. Crossing and finishing - apprecaition, critical areas, weight and shape, contact of finish, movement, appreciation

Tactical

1. Movement of the FB and WM

2. Appreciation for their position - FB wide WM inside and vice versa

Physical

1. Gradual increase in intensity

2. Preparing the body for competition

RWTB t2 Squares

RWTB through middle square

A. starts with ball and passes to B.

B. runs through the middle square then passes to C on outside of square.

C. then repeats this process and the players rotate position on the inside.

Players on the outside can move around the square to keep the working player in the middle thinking an aware of where to run with the ball.

Two defenders in the middle to try and run past.

Progression

Add opportunity for defenders in the middle defenders in the middle square to pass out of or move from the square.

Allow players on the outside to receive and drive straight into the middle square.

Allow more random pattern of movement between the 3 players.

Increase/decrease size of either square.

RWTB Tech

RWTB with recovery defenders.

3v1 in each end zone, Att's to make min 3 passes then look to release player or take ball out of end zone and then make a forward run wtb to opposite end zone, Defender on corner then makes recovery run to disrupte att movement. recovery defender to automatically look to disrupt passing on entering opp end zone players rotate to cover posistions.
