Positional keepaway (20 mins)

Positional Keepaway

6 v 4 with 2 neutral / target players. Team with 6 try to keep the ball and get 1 point everytime they connect 6 passes. The defending team try to connect 1 pass and then play to an outside player. Switch roles.

Coaching points:

- Width and Depth in posession

- Wide players open body position

- Know what going to do before receiving ball

- Play forward when possible, if not, drop or switch the ball.

- CM's show

Building out of the back to target (20 mins)

Building out of the back

Ball starts with GK, who plays with the attacking team to pass the ball into the target player. Upon winning the ball, the attacking team try to score in the goal.

Coaching points:

- Angle and support

- CD's split upon GK having the ball

- CM drops into gap just in front of CD's

- FB's give width and also height in possession

- CM's initially vacate the space by moving higher which should open space to check into.

- Recycling of movement in centre mid

- Angled passes to break the line when possible
