Warm up (20 mins)

Organization:

- quarter field, set up as per diagram, gates at 10 ft apart

- 10-12 players

- pinnies, balls

1.Start with 2 touch receive pass, on the center, trough the gate. Players always behind the gate.

2.Pass goes from center to outside of oposite gate, player receives with inside of right foot, accross body, passes back through center of his gate to ouside of partner ( on R foot).

3.Same as above , but receive on left foot , accross the body etc. Or go staright to a cross passing pattern ( 3A)

4.Pass through center gate , receive with outside of R foot to outside and pass back through gate of partner, who does same( outside foot etc). Progress to alternate receiving on R and L outside of foot

Coaching points:

- good first touch, away from foot

- ball on the ground, (inside of the foot, center of the ball.)

- weight of pass, accuracy

- movement, body position,

- find some angles

- communication,( head up , eye contact, demand for ball )

3 v 2 (20 mins)

Organization:

- quarter field, set up as above

- 10-12 players, balls, pinnies

- 2 small nets or set up gates

3 v 2 exercise.

Play starts with GK passing the ball to attacking team, while defenders get it right away to defend. When Def. win ball can score into the 2 small nets.

Attacking players, must attack with speed, thinking of overlaping or combining to get as quick as possible to the goal.

Progresion: a third defender can come ( from alternate side) in play , but must go around the side cone first.

Coaching points:

- all from warm up

- Movement with or without the ball, create space, make yourself available

- Decision making: when to pass / dribble, pass in space or to foot, attack with speed or slow down

- Speed of play, intensity

- Transition: switch quicly from one phase to another ( attacking / defending)

SSG (20 mins)

SSG

- 5 V 5 , or 6 V 6

- set up as per diagram

Only 3 touches max.

Play as per bellow , or free play.

GK start playing the ball quick to one player in middle space (3 v 3). Only one of these players can pass the blue line and score.

Thye can combine in the middle or use own GK or side support to pass with. GK or side support must play quick back in the middle, using max 2 touches.
