Organisation:

Set of footballs

Blue team set in 2-1-1, Red team in 2-1-1 and both teams use 2 Floaters

Instructions:

Team in possession attack gates to score, but need to remain in 2-1-1 formation and they are advised to use floaters.

Progressions:

- If a team score in one end, then they keep the ball and attack the opposite end

- Floaters are allowed maximum of two touches

Coaching points:

- Show outside when pressing

- Stop opposition from scoring in the gates

- Move side to side as a unit: one pressurizing attacker and remaining players mark their direct opponent and half of the nex one. Also, remember to block all gates

- Individual defending techniques (immediate pressure, slow down as you approach, can you force the mistake?)

- Compactness as a unit and make play predictable

- Win 100% of the ball

Organisation:

Set of footballs in both goals

Both teams play in GK-2-2-3-1

Box to box, full width

Instuctions:

Play normal game, without throw ins and corner kicks

Progressions/Conditions:

- If either team score after winning the ball back from defensive areas, then that count as 2 goals

- Blue team need 4 passes in defense before they can attack

- If Blue team manage 3 split passes followed by a goal counts as 5 goals

Coaching points:

- Make play compact by ensuring 6 yards gap between the three units

- Force the opposition to move the ball backwards or sideways

- Apply pressure immediately and with intensity to stop long balls

- Number 10 and 9 need to split pitch in half so that each one is reponsible for one half (at some point 10 might be higher on the pitch than number 9)

- If ball is in midfield wide area, closer wide man immediately apply pressure; then remaining midfielders need to make play compact (6 yards apart and in an angle) and they should aim to use the furthest line of the 18 yard box as a a guide for the opposite winger to stand. If the switch happen, then immediately react and slide as a unit.

- Move up the field as opponents play the ball backwards

- Use goalkeeper as a sweeper if team is pressing up high

- If opposition play a long ball, then the team need to drop back as quickly as possible

- Ball centrally, then closer midfielder must apply pressure; then remaining midfielders need to drop and must stay compact

- Can we have one person leading in defefense and midfield for when to press and hold?
