1 v 1 (20 mins)

Instructions: 1V1 Attacking

Coach plays the ball to an attacking player who must penetrate into the final zone and can socre on any goal. The defender must try and deny a goal, regain possession of the ball. The attacker then joins the line to be a defender.

Focus Points:

-The Fowards must accelerate with the ball.

-Ensure the (passive) defender gets pressed early.

-Ensure the fowards first touch is prefect.

-Accelarate past the defender into open space

-Be creative while attempting to beat the defender

-Low centre of gravity in a crouched position.

-Eyes focused on the ball and also the opponents feet (if close).

-Head up when possible to assess the field and options.

-Assess the defenders position to determine necessary attacking lines and opportunities for feints/tricks.

-Soft touches, generally with the outside of the foot when travelling as speed.

-Arms out for balance.

Maintain the ball close if dribbling, or larger push away touches if 'running with the ball'.
