Organisation

12 Players

Set up as shown (pitch size

can vary) pitch split into 5 x 5

yard squares

- Three teams of four, each with a

football

- Each team must pass and move

the ball around the area

- Cannot be in a square for

longer than four seconds

- Cannot be in the same

square as a teammate

Introduce different types of pass; lofted, curved, flick.

SSG (25 mins)

Organisation

16 Players

Half Pitch split into 3rds, use flags or flat cones in practice

8v8, both setup in a 1-3-2-2 Formation

Play starts from GK. Team in possession create space via principles

Work way up the pitch and score.

Defending team to win ball back and score themselves via same principles

Players to remain in their designated third

Width and depth

Make the pitch 'big'

Split opposition to create gaps/space to exploit

Different lines, team-mates not to be in line horizontally or vertically

Pitch corridors - try to occupy all 5
