Passing (30 mins)

Set Up

*Two areas set up as illustrated with half-way line in place.

*Each target player has a ball, he must play into one of his team-mates who find ways to pass to opposite target.

*Always receive pass from same target player.

Progressions

*Always play forwards

*Play one touch

*Play the way your facing

*Competitive - 1 ball

Learning Objectives

1. Positions on pitch, one player over half-way line, one below.

2. Movement of both players, when ball is played to target player must move to another position.

3. Body shape when receving

4. Movement of supporting player

Dribble to Shoot (30 mins)

Practice Organisation:

*Pitch is divided into thirds

*Coach feed a ball into middle team who choose a side to go towards.

*Once they enter area they must remain until score or lose possession.

*If they score the return to middle to receive next ball, if they lose possession the defenders enter middle zone to receive ball.

Switching Possession Game (30 mins)

Practice Organisation

*Two teams

*Teams score in 3 goals and defend 3 goals

*3pts for goals scored in wide goals, 1pt scored for goal in central area

*Encouraging players to switch the ball

Learning Objectives

1. Recycle ball when cannot go forward.

2. Make pitch as big as possible.

3. Must create clear passing lines.

SSG - Dribbling to Shoot (30 mins)

Dribbling to Shoot

Set up:

* 50x35 Area

* 2v2 in both end 3rd's, 2v1 in the central area. Yellow player plays for which ever team has the ball.

* Players in the end 3rd's "locked in".

* Central players may dribble into the attacking 3rd if there is space to create 3v2.

Objectives:

* Dribble at pace into space

* Change of direction change of pace

* When and where to shoot

* when are where to dribble

Challenges:

* Can players recognise where and when to dribble to shoot on goal?

* Can players off the ball find ways to create space for either themselves to receive so to dribble and shoot or for others?

Progression:

* Defenders can now dribble out from thier defensive 3rd

Regression:

* Player in the attacking 3rd drops in to create a 3v1 in the central area and two can enter the atacking 3rd
