2v0 and 2v1

2v0 (10-15 minutes)

- in a grid about 5x5 yards

- players will work in pairs to pass and move with no pressure or opponent

- the most basic form of player cooperation: we are simply asking players to pass and move to space (differs from static pass back and forth - a demonstration of this is necessary) Key Points: Movement and Communication (Ask and Show you want the ball)

- ask players to count number of successful passes

- ask players to do two things 1. think ahead 2. trust instincts and pass to wear they feel their team mate should be to properly support (provide a demonstration of this)

2v1 (15-20 minutes)

- in a grid about 5x5 yards

- players will work in groups of 3 to pass and move with low pressure from the opponent (25% of full capacity - defender should not aim to win the ball to start, only to steer attackers in a certain direction)

- reiterate the key points from the 2v0

- ask players to count number of successful passes

- allow attackers to adjust to having a defender pressurizing

2v2 (15-20 minutes)

- in a grid about 10x10 yards

- place players into pairs and each group/grid should have 4 pairs (total of 8 players)

- a pair starts with the ball and works to attack their opponent side of the grid - players should pass and move, a full/high pressure 2v2 game

- encourage players to look at different angles of opportunity, through passes with run-ons from team mate

- players can earn a point by stopping the ball on the opponents line
