Warm Up (15 mins)

Description

Normal dynamic warm up: Including in this will be passing and moving with dynamics stretches.

Technical

Proper technique for the dynamics, getting back into professional habits. When players move onto passing activity with dynamics look for quality.

Tactical

Defenders can be added into the activty to increase decision making under pressure and type of support/angle of support to the ball carrier

Physical

Good quality actions to prepare the body for the up coming session

Psychological/Social

Concentration of technique and quality of pass/movement

Passing drill (20 mins)

Description

Depending on numbers can have two grids working at one time

Players pass around the rectangle and follow pass. B passes to 9 who sets 10 and then passes to C.

Players follow their pass.

Technical

Timing/Angle of movement from 9 & 10. Support run from B. First touch, body position, accurate passing

Tactical

Whereever the ball is position of 9 & 10(or 8 & 4)...Dont get too close. Dont kill your space but ensure the pass distance is not too great

Physical

Tempo and pace of support run

Psychological/Social

Concentration & focus. Be realistic and deal with mistakes well.

Learning Objectives

Screen 3 (20 mins)

Description

Adjust depending on numbers. If big numbers have two players in end zone

Technical

Two teams.

3 touch max in the middle area if players need some help with speed and direction

Two end/free zones each side of the grid. As many touches as you need in the free zone. (Cant be pressed). Play to the team that gave you the ball

One team has to work the ball from their man in one end zone to the other while the opposition try win the ball back and do the same.

As play progresses players on the outside can come in and press to win the ball back

Tactical

Creating passing lanes, supporting angles.

Physical

Speed of movement and change of direction

Psychological/Social

Concentration to work off the ball

SSG (20 mins)

Description

2 Small sided games running back to back. Play with 5v5 or 4v4 with one player in the middle for both teams acting as a pivot player. Start by having this player unopposed and then apply pressure

Technical

Rotate the pivot player. Work on getting their body shape and first touch in a position to play forward straight away, and not being closed off.

Tactical

Try to play through the pivot player to score

Physical

Speed of support to the pivot player not leaving them isolated

Psychological/Social

Concentration and willingness to support the ball in 1st or 2nd phase
