Organisation

Area is appproximately 20 yards wide by 40 yards long, but can be changed to suit numbers.

How to Play

Each set of 3 players play the pass and move sequence shown by the arrows on the left.

Player movement is shown by the red arrows and is the same through the pitch.

Screen 2 (30 mins)

Organisation

Each third is 15 yards wide by 10 yards deep.

2v1 at eachend with a neutral player in the middle zone.

Players are locked in to the zones but rotate to experience all roles.

This practice was done with 1 group, the next group session is shown on the next screen.

How to Play

The players in the end zones try to connect 3 passes before playing into the middle man who links to the other end.

Possible Coaching Points

Passing & Receiving.

Playing "sideways" on.

Movement off the ball to create space.

Speed of play.

Screen 3 (30 mins)

In this practice, with fewer players, the coach plays as the middle man.

There is no restriction on the number of passes in the 2v1 an the ball can be played into the coach at any time.

The coach can dictate the next play, by playing the ball back into the end zone (patient play) or by setting a pass into the middle third, creating an opportunity for one of the reds to break forward, play into the opposite end Red and join in to make a 2v1 at that end.
